Digital Dependence
I long for something that doesn’t exist. The artificial world is a place I have always felt more comfortable being immersed in than the real world. Having the ability to create what and be whoever I want without worrying about the consequences that would
otherwise occur in real life. Allowing me to experience sights that otherwise could never be physically possible. Through photography, I portray to the viewer what I want to see by merging both the artificial and the real together.
To merge the artificial with the real world in these photographic works, I use a combination of several digital mediums, including Photoshop, computer-generated imagery (CGI), projection mapping, and AI-generated imagery. The glitching effect I embed in each image serves as a reminder for the viewer that, despite what I create or who I become, none of it exists.
Even though the digital environments I create can never truly exist, my desire to be in a world of my own creation as a form of escape drives me to create ever more complex spaces.
